This past weekend I ignored all my responsibilities and skipped school to go see family in Montreal, Canada. I love going to Montreal because it makes you feel like you're somewhere in France, as everyone their mainly speaks French. The weather in April is still pretty cold (especially for a FL gal) so I mainly wore jeans, sweaters, booties, and my leather jacket. Wearing sweaters and jeans is one of my favorite combos because its easy and chic. I paired it with my Les Specs Sunglasses, which I love. This off the shoulder is a great choice when you're looking for something unique but cozy. Shop my Easter look below.
I've been to Montreal many times during all seasons and I would recommend going in the summer or winter rather than the in between seasons. Here are a couple highlights of the city I would definitely recommend checking out if you ever find yourself there:
- Mont Tremblant: Only about an hour and a half from Montreal this ski town is the perfect day trip or weekend getaway from your getaway. There is a shopping village filled with great restaurants, shops, and activities to do at all times. During the winter there is obviously skiing & snowboarding but even in the summer they offer zip-lining & go carting down the mountain which is so fun for all ages. Last summer my entire family did it and ended up laughing the whole way down. Highly recommend going to Mont Tremblant, even for a day.
- Downtown Montreal: Or centre-ville. This area is definitely the heart of the city, filled with history, nightlife, vendors, artists, restaurants, & cafes. It is right along the St Lawrence River so in the summer boating & watersports are a must. During the winter my family and I always come to new restaurants in Downtown Montreal to try their French Onion Soup and Poutine (both classics in this city). The Notre-Dame Basilica is a beautiful church that resembles that one in Paris.
Other than that, I usually go to a lot of local Lebanese restaurants and supermarkets because that's where my family is from. Reach out to me directly for recommendations if you are interested in checking those out!
This was a quick trip so I don't have too much to say this time- but all in all definitely try to go to Montreal at least once. It's a charming city with European influence and lots of history.
